Moments of clarity spurred by transition.

I wish you didn’t have to go.

Stop it.

Cut it the fuck out.
I encourage you politely to do so.

Florence & the Machine

Aspire to break through the static and chatter of what people think you should be, how you wish to be seen or what’s cool at that fleeting moment.

Accept no imitations - be yourself.

— Ben Folds: The Best Imitation of Myself: A Retrospective

“It was hard to feel the right emotions at the right time. They didn’t come at all when you set a place for them, and they sacked you when you weren’t ready, when you were just innocently flossing your teeth, for example, or eating a bowl of cereal.”

— Ann Brashares, The Last Summer (of You and Me)

Emotional disfunction

Reading people’s emotions is so difficult sometimes. Can’t there just be a little snippet that completely conveys what you’re thinking or feeling so that digging and pushing by the other party is unnecessary? No. Of course not. That would make things too easy. Right.

On the up side though at least I can ignore what people refuse or decide not to say and can keep on being cheery myself. Won’t let me drag you down with you.
